I hope everyone had a good Valentine’s day. I know I did. This was because I got the best Valentine’s presents ever. The first was an Azteca Taqueria (http://www.aztecataqueria.com/) gift card, which is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Steamboat. Thanks Mom and Dad! The other present was a blessing of snow that led to the best day of riding on the mountain yet this year. Boy was it deep! It had been snowing almost since the previous Thursday and the extra heap on Valentine’s Day made a huge difference. Tracks were filling up from the copious snowfall, making everything soft and smooth. While I didn’t get a Valentine this year, my snowboard made a perfect substitute, which actually saved my some money in the end. I hope everyone else had an awesome Valentine’s Day, snowy or not. I’ll be posting a link to some Valentine’s Day snowboarding footage soon.
Get pumped, I’m going on my Avalanche Safety course this weekend and we’ll be visiting Cameron and Rabbit Ears Pass nearby. While I’ve never been to Cameron, I’ve heard many good things about it, and that it is much different than the terrain surrounding Steamboat. Stay tuned!
